The EPNS is delighted to offer FREE 1 hour to 1.5 hour long webinars on topics of key interest to Child Neurologists on the 2^nd Wednesday of each month at 17:00h CET. Each webinar is broadcast live on Zoom and available for FREE to anyone who would like to register. Topic – Joint EPNS/EAN webinar – Paediatric arterial ischemic stroke: risk factors, acute management, and prognosis

Description:

Arterial ischemic stroke can affect a person at any age, starting from the prenatal period, through neonatal and then – childhood. Each of the described clinical situations has specific risk factors, clinical presentation and prognosis. Significant advances have occurred in early diagnosis and treatment of stroke in the paediatric population, such as triage, the use of mechanical thrombectomy and thrombolysis, which, also in the aspect of available recommendations, will be discussed in the webinar. We will also present the latest information on causes of ischemic stroke in children. Furthermore, we will show the audience case studies of children with perinatal, neonatal, and paediatric stroke, along with imaging and a presentation of the patients themselves. In part, we will present information about the organizations dealing with childhood stroke, namely IPSO (International Paediatric Stroke Organisation) and IPSS (International Paediatric Stroke Study).
