EPNS Visiting Teacher 2024: Professor Dana Craiu: report from Dr Aziza Ismailova, Kyrgyzstan

On March 22-24, 2024, there was a grandiose event, the first medical conference in the framework of European Paediatric Neurology Society visiting lecturers.

There were three fruitful days along with visiting lecturers, where more than 170 offline and 20 online participants took active part in that  international conference. The participants were from different fields such as: neurologists, paediatricians, family doctors, physiotherapists, psychologists, and immunologists, faculty members of medical universities, and Representatives of Ministry Health Care of Kyrgyz Republic.

Professor Dana Craiu emphasized the topics related to child neurology, such as: febrile seizures, epilepsy in children, ketogenic diet, drug-resistant epilepsy. Professor Dana Craiu, made every listener satisfied with her professional needs, despite their level of qualification. She shared clinical cases, which were as an educational material for all participants. Professor Dana Craiu, had an appointment with a girl, suffering from cerebral palsy and structural epilepsy, made her parents get all the answers. They were given very useful advice, and recommendations.

The conference was supported by Professor Altynshash Jaxybayeva from Kazakhstan. She made huge efforts sharing information regarding international terminology, approach to children with neurological diseases, and also  myths and truth about vaccination.

Both Professor D. Craiu and Professor Jaxybayeva supported the presentations of local young neurologists’ clinical cases. They gave priceless advice and further recommendations on the patient’s treatment.

The paediatrician neurologists were limitless thankful for the opportunity to receive up-to-date information and to communicate with International colleagues.
The words of their appreciation they expressed via different messengers such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook. Many local doctors showed willingness to become members of EPNS.
