EPNS Visiting Teacher 2024: Professor Kevin Rostasy: report from Dr Altynshash Jaxybayeva, Kazakhstan

The EPNS-supported and invited specialist-professor Kevin Rostasy (President EPNS, Head of Pediatric Neurology.Children’s Hospital Datteln/Vestische Kinder-und Jugendknik) Germany. The visiting teaching to Kazakhstan was successful! More the 100 pediatric neurologists from Kazakhstan were participating in this meeting.

Also we had participants from Tadzhikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia. We discussed not only theoretical issues on autoimmune diseases of nervous system but also clinical cases! We have seen patients with NMO, MS, autoimmune encephalitis, SSPE. Discussed diagnostics criteria for these diseases according to recent data.

These three days were very interactive, interesting, dynamic ! Prof. Kevin Rostasy was a very nice presenter with well structured and precise information regarding these topics .All Kazakhstani pediatric neurologists were very grateful to EPNS for providing such a comprehensive and knowledgeable opportunity!

Together with prof. Rostasy’s team we agreed to have a regular online discussion of severe cases !We hope that our collaboration with EPNS will continue further in such a mutual fruitful manner!
